Artist Statement:

In most of the eastern countries, religion has an important position in the intellectual structure of human beings and can be very influential on social organizations and politics. The world has always witnessed inhumane killings of innocent women and children that originated from the misconceptions about religion. Unfortunately, in recent years, religious tension has been one of the greatest humanitarian disasters in the East.

The sculpture talks about how the human being of the East, with their historical, religious and cultural backbone, can talk to the modern world. For me, India was a land with a completely oriental structure, but with coexistence of different religions! People are committed to religion, tribal beliefs and worship many gods. Being brought up in a monotheistic belief system and growing up as an atheist I question if India is a safe haven for existence of multiple beliefs.
